"Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people." - Ephesians 6:7
GR (Gospel Roads) left my heart on fire and feeling so happy. The Consalata Missionary Home made me feel like I was home because everyone was so welcoming. I am truly blessed to have met over 30 new brothers and sisters who have unconditional love for the Lord like I do.
What I really liked about GR were the worksites we went to because I never imagined and knew we were going to those places. I imagined GR to be doing just Street Patrol and I was proven wrong. Street Patrol was the worksite that stood out to me the most simply because of a man named Terrance. My work group leader and I approached Terrance and gave him a sandwich and water. We talked to him for a while. Terrance had hope that one day more people would be serving those who are in need like himself. He is such an inspiration for he found contentment in simple things as receiving food and our company. The fact that he opened up to us and gave us the chance to get to know him was more than enough of a blessing.
My favorite moment at GR was our last adoration/reflection and confession. I felt renewed after doing my confession and my heart was so alive after reflection. I truly felt like I did the best worship of my life; I could not be anymore happier. There were 3 leaders that really stood out to me and who recently became my role models. Their love for the Lord is truly astounding and I am so blessed to have them in my life. GR was an amazing experience itself and there are no string of words to describe my entire experience. I came with a heavy heart and left renewed with a heart that is so alive. I promised that I will continue to walk the Gospel Roads here in British Columbia! God is truly Good!
O God, Almighty and merciful, who heals those that are broken in heart, and turns the sadness of the sorrowful to joy; Let your fatherly goodness be upon all that you have made. Remember in pity those who are this day homeless, or forgotten by their fellow brothers. Uplift those who are cast down. For those who suffer innocently, I pray that you will sanctify their endurance of the wrongs worked on them, keeping their hearts free of bitterness. Though they be troubled on every side, suffer them not to be distressed; though they be confused, save them from despair. Grant this, O Lord, for the love of him, who for our sakes endured hardship and blameless suffering, your Son, our Jesus Christ. Amen.
