I participated in the first YCOM mission trip on July 2012 which took place in the Philippines, with the CFC-Youth "Great Adventure Tour" program that lasted for 2 weeks. Here is my short reflection:
"Too many hashtags to list, and apart from catchy words and phrases that I can put here I think its better to say how truly TRULY TRULY humbling it is to meet these kids and their families.
The OLGC-YCOM Great Adventure Tour really opened my eyes to the reality of the poorest of the poor-- yet their simple joy awes me to have a deeper appreciation of my own life.
Aldrin, Mark and JC are some of the blessed kids who are able to have a roof over their head and have a loving community to live with everyday. They inspire me to live each day more simply and be happy with what I have. I know what it means to really give up something and have the greatest reward after---- what else is there at the end of the day but love?
Thank you OLGC, YFC, and GOD for making this mission trip a VICTORY."
